Jeffery Holomis ~ Biography

       Then:
Jeffery Max Holomis was born on September 28th 1982 in a small Albertan town. During Jeff’s youth his father always had something on the go that required a shop and tools. From a young age Jeff was always interested in how things worked and how he could take them apart and make them work better. At age 2 ½ his parents got him a 50cc four wheeled ATV. For years after that Jeff was always getting into some trouble on his ATV or dirt bikes, whether he was in the farmers crops, across the railway tracks or pinned under his ATV there was no shortage of reasons for his father to discipline him.

Jeff also had another passion in life and that was also discovered at a young age, it was hockey. Hockey was the Canadian thing to do, every house had a backyard hockey rink and every kid had a pair of skates.

At age 8, due to a business opportunity, Jeff’s father moved the family up to Vernon British Columbia. Jeff was not happy about having to leave the acreage and his friends behind. Once they arrived Jeff was enrolled in school and it wasn’t long before he was getting picked on. He continued to play hockey through his elementary years playing on the select teams and doing well. By grade 7 Jeff had gone through a growth spurt and had not forgotten about the kids picking on him. Shortly after that Jeff could be found in the principles office, being moved from class to class because none of the teachers could handle him, and eventually getting suspended from school. By grade 8 Jeff was playing hockey on teams
older then his age level and doing well. Still getting into trouble with fights in high school, Jeff wasn’t much into his studies and believed that he was going to play professional hockey.

At age 16 Jeff left his home in Vernon and went back to his home town in Alberta to play Junior hockey. The following year he had several offers from different Junior teams in BC to tryout. Plagued by concussions, from hockey, car accidents and fights Jeff’s hockey career came to an end that year. Now without hockey and not having applied himself for the most part of his school years Jeff was left with only one year to pull his grades together to graduate. In his grade 12 year he was so far behind that he had to take courses at home and full courses at school. After extremely hard work Jeff pulled it together and graduated.

During high school Jeff had been working for his father when he had time, after high school he was a full time employee. Working for his father again he learned more skills, after being sent to a CNC programming course he began running his fathers CNC machines, he took a strong liking to machining and fabrication. Jeff’s father also sent him to an aerospace composite course teaching him to work with carbon fiber, Kevlar and other composite materials. Jeff wanted more for a career then just working for his father and wanted to open a machine shop but that dream soon passed as he could not come up with the finances. Jeff contemplated going to school for aeronautical engineering, but given his track record of schooling he just didn’t think he would make the 7 yrs. Then one day an opportunity was brought to him by his father and it was to own and operate his own company in the aircraft industry. After several months of negotiations and tremendous help from his parents Jeff purchased a company called Full Lotus Manufacturing, which he still owns and operated today.

Jeff hadn’t had much for motorcycles or ATV’s since his family moved from Alberta, there just wasn’t anywhere to ride them in Vernon. In high school Jeff’s cousin had always had a street bike, and because Jeff was playing hockey he could not get one for fear of getting injured. Once the hockey dream was over Jeff turned back to where it all started the passion for motorcycles.

This is a new chapter in Jeff’s life, and he looks forward to not only developing an amazing motorcycle company but to provide people with a lifestyle, the Simolo Customs lifestyle. Come join us…
